28 year old Bryan James Gatten is a classically trained guitarist and a consummate professional. Born in Saint Paul, MN, Gatten grew up playing music in the New York City area, before recently relocating to Duluth, MN. His professional experience includes performances at wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, receptions, restaurants, bars/clubs, art shows, churches and more for over 15 years. In 2011, Gatten played a private wedding ceremony at the residence of Stephen Schwartz, Broadway composer (“Wicked,” “Godspell”) in Ridgefield, CT.
Gatten’s repertoire is wide and varied, and can be built to suit the occasion based on the wishes of the client. Musical selections include wedding perennials such as Pachelbel’s “Canon in D,” Bach’s “Prelude No. 1” for Cello, both Mendelssohn and Wagners’ wedding marches, Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On,” and others. Classical works by Bach, Beethoven, Carcassi, Villa-Lobos and more are also featured. In addition, Gatten’s own compositions can be played, which are composed to express the beauty and unique qualities of the classical guitar.
